Huichapa Stars for Eagles in 8-1 Win
The exploits of second baseman Orlando Huichapa, who finished 3rd in the in triples with 2 last year, helped the Newark Eagles defeat the Edmonton Drillers, 8-1. Huichapa went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Jay Henton picked up the win with 9 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 1-0. The win puts Newark at 30-45.

With Newark leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Huichapa hit a fastball from Jaden Collins for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 5-1.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Newark manager Elijah Jackson.
