Canadians Earn 7-6 Win Versus Southern California
|
The Sherbrooke Canadians weathered a fine game by Southern California right fielder Jorge Moreno to upend the Empires, 7-6, at Canadians Park. Moreno went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 3 runs. The winning pitcher was Ramon Molina. He tossed 116 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits. The Canadians, at 33-41, inhabit 4th place in the East Division.
Sherbrooke second baseman Mike Leeds contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 57th hit of the season and put the Canadians ahead, 3-1.
