The Newark Eagles defeated the Allentown Fleetwings, 8-3, at Eagles Park. Newark first baseman Jared Herrick had a superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Joe German, now 6-8, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. At 28-44, the Eagles find themselves in last place in the East Division.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Eagles grabbed the lead when Herrick hit his 17th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Ken Zimmermann made it 5-3, Newark.

Herrick called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
