Empires Grind Out 2-1 Win
|
Southern California Empires starter Justin Picton turned in a top-notch performance against the Las Vegas Rollers at Empires Stadium. The result was a win for the Empires, 2-1. Picton picked up the win for Southern California, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-5. Luis Galdamez wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.
The Empires got a big at-bat from third baseman Kaluka Mowan. For the game, Mowan was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Southern California a 2-1 lead.
