Mexico City got a valiant performance from pitcher John Higgins, but it wasn't enough to beat the Ottawa Capitals. Ottawa won the game, 2-1. Higgins threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Ottawa, at 37-30, is 4½ games up in the East Division.
Jerry Green, who finished 3rd in the in triples with 2 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Green contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Ottawa up, 2-1.
"Runs were at a premium," said Ottawa manager Justin McKelvin.
