Late Rally by Chargers Seals 4th Straight Win
The Detroit Chargers got a marvelous performance from pitcher Victor Zapata. The left-hander kept the Albany offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-1 Detroit victory at Senators Field. Steve Arthur picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-5. Charles Leyshon, who is tied for 7th in the in quality starts with 10, was tagged with the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Chargers.

Joe Amero came through with a big-time hit for Detroit. The catcher smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Victor was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Detroit manager Bill Brown.
