Edmonton got a big-time effort from pitcher Chris Goyer, but it wasn't enough to keep the Hamilton Tigers from winning the game, 5-4. Goyer threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. David Martin snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 4-4 on the season. At 25-27, the Tigers find themselves in 5th place in the Central Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Hamilton designated hitter Mario Perea, facing Chris Clary, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Tigers the 5-4 win.
"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Perea.
