The Newark Eagles took Mike Hagert's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Bruins Stadium. The final score had Newark getting past the Bruins, 3-2, in 11 innings. Hagert over 7 innings allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 3. With the win over Vancouver, the Eagles improved to 19-32.
Evan Williamson came through with a big-time hit for Newark. The second baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I know we have our doubters," said Vancouver manager Amir Johnson. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
