Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Moose
|
The Saskatoon Moose in 10 innings downed the Vacaville Steelheads, 6-5, at Moose Grounds. Mark Cruz led the way, going 2-for-5 for Saskatoon. C.J. Messer came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now stands at 3-3. The Steelheads have now dropped 5 straight.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Cruz hit a changeup from Kjeld Sijbrandij for a solo home run. The Moose, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We had a chance to win," said Vacaville manager Sergio Rodriguez, "but we didn't get it done."
