Caracals Rally to Nose Past Sherbrooke
|
Sherbrooke got a terrific performance from pitcher Hui He, but it wasn't enough to beat the Calgary Caracals. Calgary won the Caracals Stadium contest, 3-2. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Calgary reliever Irving Gerritsen was credited with the win. His record goes to 5-4. Jing Sa took the loss for Sherbrooke. Calgary currently is in 4th place in the West Division at 23-26.
Sam Elliott was the walk-off hero for Calgary. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Caracals left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Elliott said.
