5-3 Win for Sherbrooke in Extras
|
Luis Torres led the charge as the Sherbrooke Canadians defeated the Green Bay Braves, 5-3, in 11 innings at Braves Ballpark. Torres, who is tied for 4th in the in triples with 1, went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The winner in relief was Andy Groves. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Sherbrooke is in 4th place in the East Division with a record of 15-19.
Sherbrooke used the timely hitting of Emanuel Bilyeu to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Canadians on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's a good feeling when you fight so hard and win," said Canadians manager John Guzman.
