The Las Vegas Rollers buried the Vancouver Bruins, 16-2, under a barrage of hits. Alex Benitez led the onslaught, going 2-for-4 for Las Vegas. Picking up the win was Rick Bowen. He went 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 8 and walked 2. The slumping Bruins have dropped 6 in a row.
With Las Vegas leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Benitez hit a fastball from Alan Staubitz for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Rollers ahead, 4-0.
"Talk about a forgettable performance," said losing manager Amir Johnson.
