Capitals Walk It Off for 9th Win of Season
The Capitals grabbed a win, 6-4, at Capitals Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Las Vegas pitcher Tom Clifton. Clifton went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reliever Noe Lopez picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Simon Thornley, who finished 2nd in the in saves with 24 in 2008, took the loss. At 9-10, the Capitals claim third place in the East Division.

Ottawa got a game-changing hit from Rafael Tobar. The first baseman blasted a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a winner.

Said Ottawa manager Justin McKelvin: "Our approach was outstanding all night long."
