Vannette Excels, But Fleetwings Win
The Allentown Fleetwings withstood an impressive performance by Sherbrooke first baseman Cody Vannette to defeat the Canadians, 9-6, at Canadians Park. Vannette was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Savion Cottrell snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 4.2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Joel Brewer earned the save for Allentown.

Eric Larremore helped out the Allentown cause in the top of the sixth inning with a 2-run home run. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Larremore.

The Canadians fall to 4-8 and continue their rocky start to the 2010 season.
