Knights Come Back Late to Top Shamrocks, 9-5
|
The Los Angeles Knights overcame a pretty good performance by Boston right fielder Josh Olson, beating the Shamrocks, 9-5, at Camelot. Olson was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Manny Ramirez notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 3-4. The win for the Knights lifted their record to 20-19.
Had Jared Blodgett not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Blodgett hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Knights.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Blodgett said. "We did a good job of that today."
