Saskatoon pitcher Mike Haines had a large part in his team beating the Newark Eagles, 5-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. With the win, Saskatoon lifts its record to 4-0.
The Eagles had their hands full with Haines, who overpowered Newark hitters while racking up 10 strikeouts.
"Mike made some big pitches when he needed to," said Moose manager Nick Walton.
