Big Day for Moss in 8-5 Motors Win
|
The Detroit Motors trumped the New York City Blues, 8-5, at Blues Field. Detroit shortstop Steve Moss was terrific. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Keith Higdon, who is tied for 5th in the PBC with a 10.9 K/9 rate, was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. The Motors now own a record of 12-15.
Moss had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh, when he hit a 2-run single. The Motors went on to win.
"I'm proud to wear a Detroit jersey," Moss told the Detroit Bulletin. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
