Lipsey, Warriors Finish Off Pilots, 5-1
|
Washington starter Charlie Lipsey kept the Atlanta offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his fastball in leading the Warriors to a 5-1 win. The third-place Warriors have won 4 consecutive games.
Lipsey, the winner, is now 2-4, after putting the clamps on the Atlanta offense. In 9 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 4 hits, while collecting 8 Ks.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Lipsey.
