Great Stroke: Brace Gets 6 Hits Friday, September 18th , 2009 The Tampa Bay (R) Thunder stopped the Chicago (R) Blackhawks by a score of 15-2 at PBC Rookie Development Complex, with the lion's share of the credit going to starting pitcher Bryce Brace. The 19-year-old had a career day, collecting 6 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Brace said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Brace did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Blackhawks. "Not much that I can say," offered Chicago (R) manager Bobby Dankworth. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Bryce Brace singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 5th and doubled in the 7th.
