Los Angeles (R)'s Hunsaker Sidelined for Season Tuesday, September 15th , 2009 Los Angeles (R) reliever Kyle Hunsaker could miss the remainder of the season because of bone chips in his elbow. He exited yesterday's Houston (R) game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Hunsaker would be out 4 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." For the season, Hunsaker has no saves, tossed 20.2 innings, fanned 21 batters and produced an ERA of 6.10. He has also been credited with 2 wins and 1 loss. |
