Standout Season For Celada, Wins ABC Most Valuable Player Award Friday, October 23rd , 2009 The manager of the Albuquerque Coyotes said he thinks Alejandro Celada is only going to get better as he gets older. He may only be 26, but it will be hard to top the center fielder's 2009 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Amateur Baseball Circuit Most Valuable Player Award. His winning campaign featured a .318 batting average and a .424 on-base percentage this year. In 79 games he piled up 85 hits, 10 doubles, no triples, 25 home runs, 75 RBIs and 53 runs scored. He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 18. Gordie Johnson of the Fort Wayne Farmers finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Ryan Atkinson of the Albuquerque Coyotes finished third with 4 first place votes.
