Providence's Starter Receives ABC Pitching Award Thursday, October 1st , 2009 When Michael Maya takes the mound, a Providence victory is usually the result. That was the case in September. That's why he was voted the Amateur Baseball Circuit Pitcher of the Month. Maya throttled league hitters the whole month with an impressive 5-1 mark and 1.60 ERA in 6 starts. The Grays star hurler also rung up 56 strikeouts in 45 innings. This year, Maya has worked 101.1 innings with 113 strikeouts en route to a 6-5 record and 2.75 ERA. |
