Titans Stop Vanden Burg at 30 Sunday, September 27th , 2009 The Titans stopped Kyle Vanden Burg's 30-game hitting streak at Providence Field, but they couldn't stop the Providence Grays, falling by the score of 8-7. Vanden Burg didn't get a hit for the first time in weeks, finishing 0-for-6. "It's just as well," Grays manager Jon Ring said. "We couldn't spend the whole season going out of our way not to jinx him." This season, Vanden Burg has hit at a .364 clip with 38 RBIs, 12 home runs and 59 runs scored. He has played in 86 games. |
