30-Game Hitting Streak for Vanden Burg Saturday, September 26th , 2009 Providence first baseman Kyle Vanden Burg has extended his hitting streak to 30 straight games with a 2-for-4 day. However, the Long Beach Titans seized the 3-2 victory over the Grays at Providence Field. "Disappointing," Vanden Burg said of the outcome. Kyle Vanden Burg grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and singled in the 8th. Vanden Burg is batting .370 this year with 12 home runs, 38 RBIs and 59 runs scored. He has 130 hits in 351 at-bats. |
