David Acosta Out for 15 Months
Wednesday, August 5th , 2009
The doctors have spoken and David Acosta of the Arlington Stars didn't like what he heard. The 25-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Acosta sustained his season-ending injury during the Albuquerque Coyotes game yesterday at Coyote Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Arlington medical staff reported Acosta had a damaged elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 15 months.

This season, Acosta has been credited with no saves. In 8 relief appearances and 21.1 innings he has a 2-0 won-lost mark, 2.11 ERA and 21 strikeouts
