Boston's Benitez Sidelined for Season Wednesday, August 5th , 2009 When Agustin Benitez was hurt against the Brooklyn Atlantics, the Boston Battalion were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 19-year-old starting pitcher suffered a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Benitez would miss 14 months of the season. Benitez has gone 4-4 this season with an ERA of 6.39 and 49 strikeouts in 50.2 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .285 against him. |
