Battalion Wimbush Gone for Year Friday, July 31st , 2009 Watching Ron Wimbush getting helped off the field today at Boston Field, fans of the Boston Battalion feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the reliever will miss 15-16 months with a torn rotator cuff. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Wimbush suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Knights. Over the season, Wimbush has made 7 relief appearances with no saves. He has K'd 7 batters in 8.2 innings, yielded 5 walks and has a 1.04 ERA. Wimbush's record this year is 1-0. |
