ABC Player of the Week, Ings of Dallas Monday, July 20th , 2009 In the twilight of his career, 35-year-old Kelly Ings of Dallas recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the Amateur Baseball Circuit Player of the Week Award. "I've been playing since I was a kid," Ings told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success." Ings outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 9 hits in 25 at-bats, 6 home runs, and 11 RBIs to stake his claim to the award. To date Ings has chalked up a .383 average with 12 home runs, driven in 37 runs and scored 24 times. |
