Harpel Selected SPBC's Top Pitcher Tuesday, November 3rd , 2009 Chris Harpel was the most outstanding pitcher in the Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit this year and today was acclaimed the Pitcher of the Year Award winner for his efforts. Harpel had a marvelous season, going 11-8 with an impressive 2.24 ERA in 23 starts. He struck out 187 in 172.2 innings and limited opposing batters to a .188 batting average. He received 18 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Paul Rudolph of the Southern California Empires finished second in voting, while Gouki Miyagi of the Winnipeg Buffaloes finished third.
