Pierce Is SPBC's Rookie of the Year Sunday, November 1st , 2009 Brent Pierce started his Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit career in style, capping it off with the Rookie of the Year Award for 2009. The first baseman for the Sherbrooke Canadians played in 78 games, hitting .263 with 72 hits. He totaled 25 home runs, 58 RBIs and 45 runs scored. He received 18 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Roger Dahm of the Allentown Fleetwings finished second in voting, while Bobby Galvan of the Winnipeg Buffaloes finished third.
