Allentown Reliever Winnicki Will Retire Tuesday, October 20th , 2009 Shane Winnicki announced his retirement today according to sources inside the Allentown Fleetwings organization. Winnicki, who is 39 years old, gave reporters some of his plans for the near future. "I'm going to do a lot of hunting and fishing," he said. "I've always been focused on getting ready for the next season, so maybe now I can slow down and enjoy time away from it all." Winnicki went back and forth with the press in a friendly manner during his press conference. "I'm sure there's a small-mouth bass out there with my name on it," he said. During his career, Winnicki has registered a 13-7 record and 21 saves. His ERA stands at 3.49 and he has fired third strikes past 188 batters in 170 innings while giving up 66 walks. |
