Las Vegas Takes Division Championship Series in Deciding Game Friday, October 9th , 2009 Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit fans were certainly not disappointed with this Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Division Championship Series. The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the Las Vegas Rollers prevailing over the Southern California Empires to advance to the SPBC Classic Series. Las Vegas won the final game by a score of 5-2 at Empires Stadium and that sealed the series 4-3. "Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said first baseman Brent Gingrich, who earned MVP honors. For the series, Gingrich hit .240 with a .286 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 8 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Las Vegas Rollers will play against the Hamilton Tigers in the next round. Hamilton won their series against the Albany Senators 4 games to 3. The SPBC Classic Series schedule will be announced after the Division Championship Series finishes.
