Monster 3-HR Day for Tucker Tuesday, September 8th , 2009 Hitting three home runs in a game is usually something to celebrate, but there was no celebration to be found at Braves Ballpark after the hitting barrage from Steve Tucker. The Winnipeg Buffaloes dropped the contest, 7-6, to the Green Bay Braves, leaving Tucker with only a historical footnote as consolation. Steve is blessed with a natural home run swing so he gets the ball up in the air real quickly," Winnipeg manager Matt Bryant said after the loss. "It's just a shame we couldn't win the game, too. I'm sure it spoils the day a little for him." Along with putting three in the stands, Tucker went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," he told reporters after the game. "Mostly you'll fail if you really try to hit one, but today I tried on the last one." Steve Tucker walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Lisuarte Apstola in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Marcos de la Rosa in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Mike Schraufnagel in the 9th. So far this year, Tucker is batting .293 with 6 home runs. |
