Pierce Parks 3 for Sherbrooke Friday, September 4th , 2009 Sherbrooke Canadians first baseman Brent Pierce left the Green Bay pitching staff in ruins at Braves Ballpark, beating the Braves, 12-5, with a prodigious three-home run performance. "The last one was totally unexpected," Pierce told reporters at the press conference following his big game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run, and bang, I got number three." For the game, the Sherbrooke first baseman had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 3 and scored 3 runs. Brent Pierce hit a solo-shot off Joe Bell in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off George Herring in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Estevan Meraz in the 9th. This season, Pierce is batting .270 with 45 RBIs, 36 runs scored and 19 home runs. |
