Vacaville Draws Blanks Against Gubbels Sunday, July 26th , 2009 In a very sharp performance at Ballpark of Vacaville, Jimmy Gubbels of the Detroit Chargers blanked the Vacaville Steelheads, 7-0. He permitted 3 hits and finished with 11 strikeouts and 2 walks in the Chargers victory. "Jimmy goes out there and just goes about his business," Chargers manager Carlos Ventura said in his postgame press conference. "I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. No matter the pitch, you know he's going to be where he needs to be." Currently Gubbels has a 3-5 won-lost record in 9 starts with a 5.43 ERA. He also has 70 strikeouts in 53 innings.
