Nunez Selected 2009 PBC Hitter of the Year Award
Tuesday, November 10th , 2009
At the age of 24, Jorge Nunez of the Houston Mavericks could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2009 was good enough to win the second baseman the Professional Baseball Circuit Hitter of the Year Award.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .358 batting average this year, as well as a .481 on-base percentage. He played 88 games and racked up 120 hits, 23 doubles, 11 triples, 3 home runs, 55 RBIs and 81 runs scored.

He received 17 first place votes out of a possible 18. Pat Daniel of the Washington Warriors finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Josiah Hilton of the Boston Shamrocks finished third.
