Mavericks Get No Resistance from Lions in 11-0 Beat-Down Tuesday, September 29th , 2009 It wasn't easy but Steve Carter made it look that way. Carter silenced the St. Louis Lions, 11-0, in a Houston Mavericks triumph at Mavericks Ballpark. Despite the appearance of dominance, Carter said that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 3 walks and 1 hit. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." This year, Carter has a 13-5 record with a 3.60 ERA in 22 starts.
