Playoffs Won't Happen for Blackhawks Wednesday, September 23rd , 2009 It wasn't meant to be for the Chicago Blackhawks this year. Despite a tough battle, they were eliminated from playoff contention today. "It is a bad feeling," said Blackhawks starting pitcher Sean Keating. "Once you get into the playoffs, anything can happen. But you've gotta get in there first, and we weren't able to do that." Chicago last appeared in the postseason in 2003. This is their 6th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 8 times in their 10-year history. |
