Week's #1 Player Honored by PBC Monday, August 24th , 2009 26-year-old Gil Lazo sent shock waves through Professional Baseball Circuit last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Professional Baseball Circuit Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Lazo made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .435 average, 10 hits in 23 at-bats, 3 home runs and 7 RBI. Where the Salt Lake City Coyotes third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Lazo certainly made his mark last week. This year, Lazo is batting .254 with 62 hits and 10 home runs. He has scored 43 times and has batted in 41 runs. |
