Cup Qualifier Game 1 Goes to Tampa Bay, Thanks to Pickens
The Tampa Bay Thunder started the Cup Qualifier in style, downing the visiting Washington Warriors at The Thunder Bowl by a score of 15-6 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Thunder right fielder George Pickens was 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the eighth when Pickens hit a bases-clearing double. It thrust the Thunder into the lead, 6-5.

"Every team in baseball loses," Warriors manager Angel Sanchez said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Thunder Bowl in Tampa.
