The Denver Cutthroats got 2 home runs from right fielder Tom Smolar but failed to take Game 3 of the Pro Circuit Cup from the Boston Shamrocks. In a nice performance, Smolar went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice but Boston took the game by a score of 7-6 and now lead the best-of-7 series, 2-1.

Boston took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Mike Dodds hit a clutch solo home run to bring Shamrocks fans to their feet.

"We got the victory," said Dodds. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Shamrock Grounds in Boston.
