The Newark Eagles knocked off the Sherbrooke Canadians, 5-3, in Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit action at Canadians Park. Newark pitcher and Shenandoah, Louisiana, native David Waggoner had an outstanding performance. Waggoner, who leads the in strikeouts with 186, went the distance for Newark. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. The win puts Newark at 47-40 this season.

Newark needed the clutch hitting of Jeremy Bailey to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Eagles on top, 4-3. For the game, Bailey had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
