The Vancouver Bruins picked up a win at Bruins Stadium, knocking off the Las Vegas Rollers, 9-2. Starting pitcher Antonio Maytorena was a big reason why. The win puts Vancouver at 34-52.
Andrew Zavitz had a big 2-run double for the Bruins in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Vancouver leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Robby Harris, who is tied for 3rd in the with a 10.6 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bruins ahead, 4-1.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Vancouver manager Amir Johnson.
