Tigers Rally For Late Win Over Chargers
Conditions were not ideal but Hamilton and Detroit were able to put their game in the books.

Detroit got a decent performance from pitcher Jimmy Gubbels, but it wasn't enough to beat the Hamilton Tigers. Hamilton won the Chargers Field contest, 4-3. Gubbels threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Simon Thornley picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-5. Eric McIntosh suffered the loss.

Hamilton used a timely hit from Jonathan Lieberman to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Hamilton manager Jason Johnson called it "a good, solid win."

Hamilton is now 50-34, 6½ games up in the Central Division.
