Phillips Helps Tampa Bay Cruise to 11-3 Win
With center fielder Darnell Phillips leading the charge, the Tampa Bay Thunder defeated the Atlanta Pilots, 11-3, at The Thunder Bowl. Phillips, who is on pace for 63 RBI this season, went 3 for 3 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The winning pitcher was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Miller. He tossed 103 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. The Thunder have an impressive 46-17 record.

With two out in the bottom of the third, Curt Mattson put Tampa Bay in front, 4-1, with a 2-run single. The Thunder went on to win the ballgame.
