Blackhawks Lose to Boston, 5-2
|
The Boston Shamrocks locked up a win at Shamrock Grounds, knocking off the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-2. On the mound for Boston was right-hander Chris Phillips. He played a major role in the triumph. Jon Snowden earned his 4th save, after closing out the game. The losing streak for Chicago has now reached 4 games.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Jason Salyer came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Chicago pitcher Ethan McKeehan, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Boston on top, 4-2.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Phillips.
