Tampa Bay Hot Streak Continues with 4-3 Win
|
Tampa Bay pitcher Kevin Schuerger did his part in helping his team beat the Atlanta Pilots, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winning streak has now reached 7 games for the Thunder.
Tampa Bay shortstop Brandon Crosby contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 51st hit of the season and put the Thunder ahead, 4-1.
"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Tampa Bay manager Dick Granade.
