Great Effort by Juarez Wasted in 7-5 Peanuts Loss
|
The New York City Blues overcame a good performance by San Francisco designated hitter Alexis Juarez to knock off San Francisco, 7-5, at Blues Field. Juarez went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Tyler Crimmins, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-3. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 12 and walking 0. New York City bumps their record to 25-34 with the win.
Willie Zamora, who led the PBC in batting average with .341 in 2007, chipped in a 2-run home run for New York City in the bottom of the first. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
