The San Francisco Peanuts earned a win at Blues Field, knocking off the New York City Blues, 7-2. On the bump for San Francisco was right-hander Ron Clous. He had a starring role in the triumph. In 7 innings, Clous surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up the save was four-time All-Star Edwin Quevedo.

San Francisco used the clutch hitting of Jayden Bates to snag the win. The second baseman drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Peanuts ahead, 7-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Ron was in attack mode the whole game," said San Francisco manager Larry Link.

The Peanuts raised their record to 27-30.
