Riding the 3-hit performance of the 2008 PBC home run champion Malachi Thompson, the New York City Blues defeated the Boston Shamrocks, 8-1. The Blues now own a record of 36-49.

With New York City leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Thompson hit a changeup from Francisco Chavez for a solo home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Blues ahead, 2-0.

In comments to the New York City Citizen, Thompson admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
